Rev David Mitchelmore - Pastor:

David was born and brought up in Zimbabwe (formerly Southern Rhodesia), moving to Australia in 1973. A keen sportsman, he is Rugby Union-mad and loves the Wallabies and George Gregan. He has been married to Lesley for 27 years and they have three sons - Adam, Paul and Stephen

David was an Accountant for companies in Southern Africa during 1966 to 1970 and then National Sales and Operations Manager for an Australian company from 1973 to 1986.

He was called by God to church ministry in 1986, completing a Bachelor of Theology and ministerial training at Whitley College (the training college of the Baptist Union of Victoria).

During his initial tenure (1989-1996) as a Pastor in the Chelsea area, David identified a need in the community for a church that was more clearly relevant to 21st century issues and circumstances. Together with three other families, David founded Freeway CLC in August 1996.
